On his 1935 HRD in TT Replica form. The 499 single then had a vertical engine which did not use the cylinder as a frame member, the postwar Comet and Meteor dispensing with a down tube, or indeed any frame at all in the true sense.

Aboard his 1937 Rapide which has the normal exposed hairpin valve springs and Burman gearbox. The design was very full house in the Vincent rear-sprung frame. Front forks are Brampton with duo brakes.
