<B>(Above)</b> That inimitable Hancock style! Bill and John Stainton on the former's 1948 Rapide outfit. The front brakes is worked by the standard Stevenage system of a single cables inner'applying the clutch-side brake, reaction from the outer working the exhaust-side stopper. But Dave Jones and Fred Rose <b>(below)</b> prefer twin cables and a whiffle tree for their 1953 Black Shadow plot. The massive steadyplate on the Girdraulics is not standard. Nor at that date were ball-ended levers of course, obligatory for racing now.
